Brand Identity and UX/UI Design | 2024

Problem Statement: Existing medication tracking apps lack user-friendly interfaces tailored to individuals with chronic illnesses, leading to there being no efficient and effective mode to track medication. "Dosey," a new app, aims to fill this gap by offering a welcoming and enjoyable platform.

Process: Under the guidance of John Kane in my Design Degree Project course at Northeastern University, I led the research, brand development, wireframing, and prototyping for a new app that takes a new approach to medication tracking.

Solution: I created a mobile application that allows young people living with chronic illnesses to track their medication regimens in a positive and effective environment.

PHASE 1

Secondary Research

Secondary research was conducted on existing competitors to assess the positive and negative aspects of existing medication tracking apps.

PHASE 2

Primary Research

I collected primary data from a sample of 50 individuals through a survey that assessed current and desired medication tracking experiences.

PHASE 3

Brand Development

The next stage for dosey was developing a brand identity. The mobile application is intended to be welcoming, approachable, and user friendly, which was conveyed through the color palette and typographic choices. These elements evolved throughout my design process as dosey went through user testing as well as critique.

PHASE 4

Information Architecture

Based on the key themes gathered, I developed basic information architecture for the mobile application.

PHASE 4

Wireframing

Using the information architecture developed in Phase 3, I then developed Low-Fi wireframes for the application. After receiving feedback from professors, peers, and potential users, I developed the final high fidelity wireframes for the prototype.

PHASE 5

Prototyping

Using the Hi-Fi wireframes developed in Phase 4, I created a functional prototype to show dosey’s key user flows.

PHASE 5

Additional Brand Applications

To take dosey one step further, in this final stage I developed a set of three advertisements as well as Instagram posts to further develop dosey’s voice.
